Pakistan's Independence Day Reception 2019

Hannan Sarwar, Wilmslow Town Councillor and Tatton YC Chairman, represented #TeamTatton at the 72nd Pakistan Independence Anniversary last night.

Hannan said: “Delighted to have accepted the invitation from Pakistan’s General Consul to attend their celebrations for Pakistan’s 72nd Independence Anniversary, alongside Pakistani government and army officials.

A proud moment as British Pakistani Councillor, especially after seeing the drastic improvements being made by Pakistan’s new government. I look forward to the developing relationship between the British & Pakistani governments and can see a great post-Brexit future ahead.

I chose to wear Pakistan’s national outfit the “Shalwar Suit”on this occasion & it was great to see the vast artwork on display, showing the beauty of Pakistan.”
